Q1. Can I get Kindle Fire outside USA?
A. Amazon is not going to ship Kindle Fire outside USA. However, you can still buy one using your foreign credit card or gift balance, but your shipping address must be in the USA – may be some some friends or family member who can later send you by mail. The other way to use some US mail forwarding service. But you need to remember that a lot of services like movies and MP3 downloads, magazine subscriptions etc will not work outside USA due to geographic restrictions on distribution. Amazon restricts such distribution either by identifying IP address or by not allowing purchase all those services with foreign credit cards. However, You would be able to download ebooks from anywhere in the world.
Q2. Can I use thumb drive via the USB port of Kindle Fire?
A. No, you can’t. Kindle Fire’s USB port is USB 2.0 or micro-B connector. It means you would not be able to plug in a thumb drive. Even if buy a mini USB 5 pin male adapter to use USB thumb drive it will not work since p Kindle Fire does not have a USB host capability. However, you can plug the USB cord into your computer and load files like movies, music, ebooks etc. onto the Fire.

Q4. Does Kindle FIre has Text-to-speech?
A. The experimental Text to Speech feature will work on Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G as it does Kindle Keyboards, but not on p Kindle Fire.

Q5. Does Kindle Fire has SD card slot?
A. No, p Kindle Fire doesn’t have SD card slot. It comes with 8GB in-built storage. However, you also get 5GB cloud storage on Amazon server plus 5GB personal storage as a Kindle device. Anything you buy from amazon (like movie, songs etc) will not eat up your 5GB cloud storage. You can upload anything you want in cloud storage, and download it as well.

A. You have remember that p Kindle Fire doesn’t have 3G capability. You can connect to internet via wifi. Amazon has added their custom web browser – Amazon Silk – for web browsing. Q7. Can I load apps on Kindle Fire from Google Android market?
A. No, you can’t. Amazon has it’s own appstore. And the number of apps growing rapidly in the store. All major app builders are releasing apps for amazon store. The store has already many ebooks, productivity, utility, and games app. The store has popular angry birds app, many PDF readers, word processing apps etc.
Q8. Can I read ePub books on Kindle Fire?
A. Natively Amazon doesn’t support ePub in any of its Kindle devices. In fact, you can’t read any ePub books on e-ink Kindle devices. On Amazon app store there are some ereading apps like aldiko that can read ePub without conversion. However, it’s not yet clear whether Adobe Digital Edition will be supported on such apps so that you can read DRMed ePub books on Kindle Fire.
