What You Need to Know Before You Order an International Kindle

kindle is now internation. It’s available for pre-order now for 100+ countries. While the price price of kindle has been slashed down to US$259, that’s not applicable for international kindle. U.S. kindle wouldn’t be able to connect wispernet while you’re travelling foreign countries. The international kindle is capable of connecting both U.S. and other coutries amazon supports kindle. Might be that’s why the international kindle is prices US$279. However, that’s not all that you pay when you buy an international kindle. There are some costs that you need to consider before you buy a new kindle:
- All the prices you pay for kindle is in U.S. dollar. The actual cost depends on the exchange rates.
- While the price is US$279, you’re responsible for paying customs duty in your country.
- kindle ships with a U.S. power adapter and a micro-USB cable for charging your kindle via a computer USB port. The U.S. power adapter supports voltages between 100V – 240V. But you have to buy a physical adapter to plug it in your electrical outlet.
Now once you get the kindle, you have to face some limitations that U.S. kindle doesn’t have:

- The experimental web browser is not available in international kindle. So, no free internet.
- While magazines and newspapers subscriptions are mostly availbale, blog subscriptions are not.
- If you want to transfer personal documents to kindle, or send a PDF file for conversion over wispernet you’ll be charged &0.99 per megabyte.
