There is a discussion on amazon kindle forum over boycotting any e-book that costs more than $9.99. Recently computerworld pubished a report based on that discussion. As of today there are 1251 posts on the topic. According to the report on compuerworld:
Some comments say that certain books are worth more than $9.99, even if they are read on an e-reader, but most complain that Amazon promotes the kindle and kindle 2 by saying it has many thousands of for that price or less.
The general sentiment of commenters is that if a customer pays $359 for a kindle 2, the books should be substantially less than the hardcover or even the paperback cost.
The main argument is that the e-book really costs more than what it should be. One person with the name “Knipfty” have posted the number of $9.99 price e-books are available on amazon kindle store on daily basis:

The discussion form is trying to pursue people not to buy e-books that are costly. It’s a kind of campaign among the kindle owners to caught the attention of publishers as well as amazon who are used to say e-books are cheap while that’s not really true.
