Nook Tablet apparently doesn’t allow you to install any third party app. However, there is a way out. B&N has hidden allowing app installation from unknown sources in the setting for Nook Tablet. In order to make it available you have to follow the following steps:

• Try to find any apk file from the web you want to install, for example, Aldiko. 
• Now try to install the app, and you will be prompted to change the setting. Allow the changes.
• Now click the little icon on the bottom left corner of the Nook Tablet screen. Here you’ll see the your downloads.
• From the list (if you have multiple download) select the app and install it again 
• You can now open the app
• But once you close it you’ll not find the app easily, since the app will not show up on the home screen. So, you;ve to follow new steps here
• Click on the “n”, and select search. Type in the name of the app. Find it, and now you can open the app
• Next go to the home screen, and open the search again
• Done
• Next time you don’t need to search again 

Yes, you can even though Amazon didn’t reveal that information during the announcement of the device. In a mashable.com article this has been revealed lately. According to the article:

Although Ama­zon goes out of its way to hide all traces of vanil­la Android from its new Kin­dle Fire tablet, it turns out tech-savvy users can still install select third-party Android appli­ca­tions out­side the aus­pices of the Ama­zon App­store. These apps include Ama­zon com­peti­tors, like Barnes & Noble’s Nook app for Android.

Here are the steps to follow to install third-party apps:

• Go to the settings section, and find labeled “Device”
• Find the option that says “Allow Instal­la­tion of Appli­ca­tions From Unknown Sources.”
• Enable this option
• Now install your favorite third-party app store (you cannot install Google Android Store, but some others can be. After installing the Get­Jar app, I went on my merry way installing var­i­ous third-party apps. Some apps would sim­ply redi­rect to an entry in the Ama­zon App­store. Other would refuse to down­load.

Still, a num­ber of apps installed with­out any prob­lem — includ­ing the Barnes & Noble Nook app for Android. The awe­some­ness of run­ning the Nook app on the Kin­dle is par­tial­ly a nov­el­ty, sure, but it actu­al­ly adds quite a bit of value to the device.

Many users have problem Kobo Vox from waking up from sleep mode or charging altogether, according to some sources. Even after a firmware update recently, the issue is still there. Kobo authority will issue a firmware patch to fix this problem. You can fix the problem in two ways until the new patch is released:

4.      Tap the Add Note button.

5.      Enter your notes using the keyboard.

To view notes in highlighted text:

1.      Tap the Notes icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. A Notes on this Page window appears.

2.      Tap X to close the window.
To edit a note in highlighted text:

1.      Tap the Notes icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. A Notes on this Page window appears.

2.      Tap the note you want to edit.

3.      Tap the text to open the keyboard. Enter your updated notes.

4.      Tap Save to update your note.
To share a note within a highlight on Facebook:

1.      Tap and hold the highlight in the text.

2.      Tap Share to Facebook.

3.      Tap Post to Wall.

4.      Tap Post to Wall again to post the highlight on your Facebook wall, or tap Set Status to post the highlight to your Facebook status. A Facebook log in window will appear.

5.      Log in to Facebook to post the highlight to your Facebook Wall or Facebook Status.

Amazon has just rolled out a new firmware update version 3.3 for all Kindle Keyboards (aka Kindle 3). Here is the detail about the new update. You might know by now that each and every Kindle owner has 5GB personal document storage on your Kindle account. You could email any document to your Kindle account from your computer, and send it to Kindle after conversion. Now this document is stored in the personal storage. What Amazon has done with this new updates is that you can now download and archive your documents from your Kindle on the cloud from anywhere. In addition, all your boomarks and annotations on the personal documents will be stored through Whispersync as it does with your Kindle eBooks. It’s always good idea to update the software on wifi network rather than manually since in that case you don’t have know the serial number of the Kindle 3 you own. The steps ar:

• Turn your wireless on and connect to an available Wi-Fi network.
• From the Home screen, press Menu and select “Sync and Check for Items.”

Hey Kindle lovers, do you know that you have now 5GB free storage from Amazon Now. You don’t have to be Kindle owner. Once you buy any Kindle ebook you’re eligible to

have the storage. Previously, you could sent any document from your approved email addresses (you can add as many email address as you want to send documents) to your “usename@free.kindle.com” or username@kindle.com account to be sent back to your Kindle as converted .mobi format. There was no way the original document could have been saved for future use. In fact, Amazon didn’t allow that. Now you have that opportunity.

From the figure, as you can see there is an item called “Personal Documents” on the left column. Once you click that you would be able to see your personal document space that have been used already out of 5GB. I have here only one document sent from my approved email address. The “Actions” button gives you choice to delete the file. That’s the way you manage your 5GB space.

In order go to this page, first you have to login with amazon account information. Then go to “manage your kindle”. This will bring you to your Kindle Library. Then on the left menu, click “Personal Documents”, and you are on this page.

This free space is in addition to 5GB Amazon Cloud Storage that every amazon customer gets. However, you can’t store files on cloud storage by emailing as you can do for Kindle Library personal storage. You’ve to upload files manually in cloud drive. You can download files from cloud drive as well.
