I had a post couple of weeks back informing you that Augen The Book is available for pre-order from J&R at $129. On J&R store it’s still pre-order. However, I’ve just found that Augen The Book is now available Kmart online store at $89.99. You can even pay $79.99 when you sign up for Kmart email: Get Two $5 Kmart Coupons when you sign up for Kmart Emails However, it’s up to you whether you want to get periodic emails from Kmart that you might not like.

Here is some detail about Augen The Book:

It’s Kindle-like; but the screen is LCD. A Florida based U.S. electronics company, Augen, has announced an ereader in already saturated ereader market. However, in post-iPad era a less than $150 color-screen ereader may seem cheap.

The Book is being marketed as an ereader, an MP3/video player plus a word Processor ‘in your pocket or purse!’ It is linux based, not Android. It has Wi-Fi built-in, a full web browser, an open-source SDK, and supports Adobe DRM, Text-to-Speech. It comes with a leather cover, 2GB of internal memory, and has an SD card slot for cards up to 8GB.
