Yes, Kindle for PC has been updated recently. Normally when you open the program on your PC it would update automatically. If it doesn’t the you can update it from the menu by choosing update. According to amazon, the new features are:

  • Search
Search for words or phrases within the book you’re reading
  • Improved look and feel
Enjoy brighter graphics and a slick new look

Amazon promises to update the application for PC in near future with more features:

  • Two-page reading mode
View two pages at the same time
  • Built-in dictionary
Seamlessly look up the definitions of English words without interrupting your reading
  • Library management
A new way to manage and organize your content

There are reports that you can sort ebooks by  ‘Most Recent’, ‘Title’, and ‘Author’ as we can on the Kindle with this new update.
