Kobo Vox eReader – an Android tablet – like Nook and Kindle Fire is now available for pre-order at $199. The ereader will be shipped starting from October 28, way before Amazon will ship its Kindle Fire. That means, people will touch it, feel it, review it, and start consuming it at least 15 days ahead of Kindle Fire’s arrival to customers hand. Before jump into the main features of the Kobo Vox, let me make it known first that it’s now for U.S. and Canada only. The company will not ship any other countries.
It seems that kobo has developed partnership with some companies for the contents excepts ebooks for which the company has already a sore. The magazine partner is Zinio, newspaper is Pressdirect, music is RDIO. I’m not sure about the app store and video/movie content partnership. This is in opposite to what Amazon is doing for Kindle Fire.

- 8G of internal memory – enough for over 5,000 books and 20,000 songs with 32G expandable storage option
