Yes, it seems odd; but that’s true. I ordered my Kindle 3 on July 28. It has been released yet, forget about shipping. Even my credit card has been charged yet; but surprisingly my kindle is registered on my account. You can check yours by going to ‘Manage my Kidle’.
A kindle can only be registered if it has a 16 digit cereal number. Apparently, Amazon got serial number of Kindle 3 that they plan to ship me. The serial number can be found on the back of the Kindle. How Amazon got the serial number when it has not been released yet? And surprisingly, I was able to buy a Kindle book, and send it to my kindle from ‘Manage my Kindle’, and it showed me – ‘successfully sent’.
It seems Kindle 3 is in stock for those who already ordered. Amazon doesn’t want to ship them now. However, it’s also surprising that Amazon has not yet finalised the shippng & delivery dates of Kindle 3 as I can see on my order summary. I also ordered Kindle Lighted Cover, and it has the shipping date of August 27 in the order summary.
