New Nook Tablet

A leaked document released by theDigitalReader shows that B&N is going to release a new Nook Tablet to be sold $249. The device would be available on November 16. The new Nook Tablet looks similar to Nook Color; but technically it is much more improved. B&N is not pulling out Nook Color from the store. The company will sell it at $199. In order to make the new Nook Tablet head-to-head with Amazon’s Kindle Fire, B&N has added Dual Core processor like Kindle Fire. However, B&N has increased the internal storage to 16GB compared to Kindle Fire with 8GB. The SD card slot is still available. For contents like movies, songs B&N couldn’t find a way without relying on third-parties. For movies, B&N has chosen Hulu Plus, for music Rhapsody, MOG, and Grooveshark. For radio, Pandora is pre-loaded.

To me, Nook Tablet doesn’t seem to be a very strong leap from Nook Color except the Dual Core and faster processor, and bigger internal memory with SD card support. However, this might make Nook Tablet attractive to a lot pf people.
