Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization that produces “Sesame Street,” and Random House Children’s Books announced the start of a new digital publishing initiative. As of Jan. 25, Random House’s Sesame Street titles will be available as ebooks for the first time.

“Elmo Says Achoo!” and “Elmo’s Breakfast Bingo” will be the first two “Sesame Street” titles released. The ebooks will be available in the U.S. and Canada wherever Random Books are sold.

This spring, an additional 19 “Sesame Street” ebooks will be released, including “Get Moving with Grover,” “Big Bird Says…” and “Baker, Cookie Maker.” Some of the ebooks will feature titles with audio narration by “Sesame Street” performer Bob McGrath, who plays the human character Bob on the popular show.

The digital publishing initiative focuses on books to assist early learning and reading readiness. Titles are selected from Random House’s “Early Step into Reading” books, part of the publisher’s leveled reading program which has been in existence for 25 years……..
