While it seemed just a couple of months back that all other ereaders those donot have decent market share would disappear soon. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. There is a bunch of ereaders like Pocketebook, Sharper Image Literati, iReiver Cover Story, Cool-er, Pandigital Novel, Pockerbook IQ, BenQ K61, Ectaco Jetbook mini, Aluratek More >

Wifi-only Nook Coming Soon
Engadget reports with a scrrenshoot regarding a wifi-only Nook. It’ll be sold at $149 same as the Kobo reader being sold by Borders. There are rumors that it’s coming this Wednesday. It seems not realistic. Why does B&N release a new Nook without any campaign within such a short time interval? However, it’s reasonable to believe that a fierce market competition in the ebook market going to bring down the ereader prices. Why a Wifi Kindle is the Most Likely To Be Amazon’s Highest Priority
In recent times Amazon is facing increasing competition in the ereader and ebook market. After B&N released Nook, and lately Apple’s iPad and its own iBook store, this competition has reached a height. In no way iPad is comparable to Kindle, but the wide scale adoption of iPad given the fact that that people are hesitated to carry multiple devices for multiple purposes when they can get a lot in one device like iPad, has created a slow down of Kindle sales. Kobo VP’s Response To Some Software and User Issues Regarding Kobo
Recently, a contributor on Teleread wrote a piece – Kobo growing pains – user issues and my prescription. In response to this, Kobo Vice President Michael Tamblyn left a big response in the comment area of the post. Teleread just put that comment as a blog post on the front page. Here I reproduce that response courtesy of Teleread:
1. Font scaling
Font scaling will be dealt with in a firmware upgrade the week of June 28th. Font issues have been tricky — they are most often caused by hardcoded absolute font sizes in the epub CSS. Doing wholesale overrides of CSS can earn us bad karma with More >
