Unicode Font Hack Now Works with Kindle DX

in Kindle Tips,Tips & Tricks

As soon as kindle 2 was launched people started to hack the love-machine to find a way of more usability – unicode font hack (UFHack) is one of them. However, this hack didn’t work with the new kindle dx. Recently, folks at the-ebook.org came with a solution using igor’s mod. Blogkindle confirms that it works without any trouble.

Blogkindle reports:

Just as before there are 2 versions of the hack: one based on liberation fonts that have fewer international characters (no Asian characters) but preserve serif styles and one with droid fonts that has more characters but turns everything into sans-serif.

For detail instruction on how to install the fonts and download link visit here. Remember, be cautious! You need to know what you’re doing and how you’re doing things. Don’t brick your kindle dx as it’s one of the expensive items you own.
