VEGA: The Mysterious Apple Slate-Like Tablet With Android Touchscreen Coming Next Year

The company, ICD, has announced a big iPodTouch-like device with mutitouch screen based on Android OS. I don’t what will happen to this device if Apple really come out with the mysterious device called Apple Slate. The Vega looks similar to iPodTouch with big screen. It’s a multimedia device, but can be used as an eBook reader thouh the screen is LCD and battery life is only 4 hours. But if an iPOdTouch / iPhone can be an eBook reader, then why not this. Some people might still stick to eInk devices, so are some with iPhone/iPodTouch. If amazon deliver a kindle for Android, then this can be used as a kindle eBook reader also. The press release says:

full featured High Definition entertainment and information devices that feature 3G connectivity, a Tegra processor, full streaming media, and a touch interface. The 7-inch, 11-inch and 15-inch devices are scheduled for distribution through Tier 1 carriers across North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East in the first half of 2010. ICD will provide full specifications and demo the Vega device at the 2010 International CES Show, which takes place January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center/Las Vegas Hilton.
